Start with the view you came for
Make the Canadian Horseshoe Falls and Table Rock your first anchor stop. As a suggested planning allowance, set aside 45–60 minutes for viewpoints, photographs and a relaxed walk rather than rushing straight into a ticket queue. If you are arriving from Toronto, plan the day around your actual arrival in Niagara, not your departure time.
Choose one main attraction
Pick the experience that interests you most: a boat trip for a close-up water experience, Journey Behind the Falls for a different perspective, or the Power Station for history and engineering. Check operating dates and admission with the operator. Book a timed entry only after you know your pickup and transfer arrangements. Leave a buffer between activities; queues and walking are part of the day.
Build in a real lunch break
Reserve roughly an hour for lunch as a planning allowance. Decide whether you prefer a sit-down meal with a view or a quicker stop that leaves more sightseeing time. Share food preferences in your tour form, then confirm allergies and preparation requirements with the restaurant. Meals and attraction admissions are separate from your private-tour price unless explicitly included.
Choose your afternoon route
For a lively afternoon, explore the Clifton Hill area and choose a small number of activities rather than buying everything in advance. For scenery, ask about Niagara Parkway viewpoints. Niagara-on-the-Lake is a separate outing: choose the 7-hour package if it is a priority, rather than trying to squeeze it into a short Falls visit.
Decide whether to stay after dark
Check the illumination schedule for your travel date and arrange your return ride before committing to an evening stay. Fireworks are a separate scheduled event and should never be assumed. A daytime tour does not automatically include evening guiding; choose the After Dark package or request a custom itinerary.
